Müller Ice Cap Daily Report June 2 and 3

Daily Report for June 2 nd and 3 rd June 2025 Monday was once more a day of hugs and goodbyes as Rebecca,  Tessa, Etienne and Nicholas went on the Basler to Resolute with  a good chunk of the PCSP gear that needs to go back to the PCSP facility there. Tuesday, we managed to send even more PCSP gear, as well as all camp garbage bags to Resolute, by topping up 3 Twin Otters anyway going to Resolute with our cargo, thus making the most of the fact that we now have Müller camp members both to load and unload flights of opportunity in both Eureka and Resolute. Here in Eureka, we are also working on organizing cargo both for upcoming air charters as well as container cargo for the sealift later in the year, while the Resolute group is handling and drying out PCSP gear at the PCSP facility.   What we have done Monday and Tuesday: - Said goodbye to Rebecca, Tessa, Etienne and Nicholas going from Eureka to Resolute. - Topped up 3 Twin Otters for Resolute...

Müller Ice Cap Daily Report Saturday May 31

Daily Report for 31 st May and 1 st June 2025   What a difference it makes to be here in the Eureka station, and   not in a tent camp, when weather is windy – so quiet without all   the tents flapping ! The heavy rain also managed to cut the power to our ice core freezer, but thanks to Iben’s watchful eye, the problem was spotted quickly, and Derryl (the Eureka electrician) managed to restore power and restart the freezer in short order – thank you! Sunday morning we loaded up the Basler and Twin Otter with PCSP gear going to Resolute, but high winds preven...

Daily Report for 30 May 2025 The Müller ice cap camp is now closed. Due to the amazing efforts  of all in camp, as well as the Twin Otter and Basler crews, we  managed to take down camp, and fly all camp gear, equipment and  all 8 camp members to Eureka today. This was accomplished by a total of 6 flights: 3 by the Basler and 3 by the Twin Otter. Nicholas and Richard went out by the first Twin Otter to help unload in Eureka, then Iben And Tessa went out with the second Basler mission to further expedite unloading. On the third and final Basler, Rebecca, Bo, Etienne, Julien as well as the last remaining cargo was flown out. An enormous thank you to Troy and Liam in the Twin Otter and Kyle, Luke and Gillian in the Basler for all their help in getting camp closed – even helping pulling cargo to the planes and taking down all our skiway markings, while we were getting the last two tents down! After all was said and done, both planes were all loaded up and set ...
