Müller Ice Cap Daily Report June 4 and 5
Daily Report for June 4th and 5th June 2025
In Eureka the two last days have been all about moving, palletizing and packing cargo, both into the 3 containers we have, and making it ready for the two cargo planes coming to Eureka in a couple of days. We did, luckily also manage to make use of some of the nice leisure facilities here in Eureka, with both a game-night and a movie-night. The Resolute crew has been handling cargo there as well, before leaving for Ottawa on Thursday. Before leaving Resolute they did, however also find time for an absolutely fantastic dog-sled ride enjoying the beautiful vicinity of Resolute in the best of ways!
What
we have done Wednesday and Thursday:
-
Re-packed and organized cargo in containers.
-
Moved cargo to south apron to make it ready for charter cargo flight.
-
Monitored freezer temperature (still consistently well below – 20C).
-
Moved frozen food not used in camp to Eureka station freezer for use at the station.
-
Resolute crew has been sorting and drying out gear at PCSP facility.
-
Resolute crew managed to go dog-sledding.
-
Resolute crew travelled via Iqaluit to Ottawa.
We

Caption: After getting a suitable throne,
Iben is no longer just our “Box Boss” here, but has now also been given a new
style and title: “Lady Iben of the High Arctic Ice Caps, Queen of Containers
and Ruler of all Boxes and Pallets in the North”. Luckily Iben’s reign is very
efficient, so the throne has already been packed, as has the container!

here at Eureka, is placing the main camp generator into one of our containers,
while Iben, Richard and Julien monitors the operation.
