Müller Ice Cap Daily Report Monday March 31

Daily Report for the 31 March 2025

We are ready to leave Eureka and fly to Müller. We have the cargo ready and are ready to move on. Unfortunately, The cargo charter to come from Yellowknife has had some mechanical issues and is delayed. Instead of today, March 31st the charter is planned for Wednesday April 2nd at the earliest. We will delay the skiway putin to match the charter delay and will thus not go to Müller before Wednesday. The weather is still amazing with blue sky, no wind but cold at Eureka and we spent the day doing the last small things including digging/chopping out the propane cylinders that we need for the Team 1 putin and making a hole in the roof of the Viessman cabin for the top mounted cooling unit to come on the charter. The charter will include the frozen food and we plan to store the Team 2 food here until the mid-season exchange.

What we have done:

- Organized the cargo into mission-movements

- Got the propane cylinders out of the white weatherhaven

- adjusted the hook dimensions for a better fit of the groomer on the Lynx snowmobile

- Made a hole in one of the top panels for the top mounted cooler unit

- Enjoyed life at Eureka with fantastic food and good company

Wx at Müller: around -28 deg C, wind sensor is frozen, at Eureka: -32 deg C, blue sky and no wind

Caption: Dave, Linda and Emma freeing the propane cylinders. The snow is harder than granite and needs more chopping than digging... Good job!
