Müller Ice Cap Daily Report Sunday March 30
Daily Report for the weekend 29-30 March 2025
Saturday, we finished emptying the containers and with Nick’s help moved all to the runway 2 km away. The cargo has been sorted into subjects and strapped so wind cannot move the light boxes.
Being a Saturday, we had time for an afternoon nap before dinner and bar evening. We had a really good evening in the company of the staff at the Eureka station, the team working at the PEARL station and a film crew, Silverback, who are filming the wolves around Eureka.
Sunday started with a wonderful brunch at 11 and during the afternoon, we raised the Viessman freezer near a 220V, 60 Hz, 30 Amp plug. It seems to be a little strange when the outside temperature is -32 deg C. But we do expect temperatures becoming positive before we move the last ice cores from Eureka beginning of June.
What we have done:
- Emptied the three sea containers and the area in front of the containers
- Moved the Müller ice cap cargo to the runway
- Built the Eureka Veissman freezer cabin
- Assembled the groomer
- Repaired the electrical cable controlling the groomer teeth position
- Started removing the snow in front of the weatherport where the propane is stored-
- tested the second Starlink at the Eureka station
