Müller Ice Cap Daily Report Thursday March 27

Daily Report 27 March 2025

Again, a wonderful weather day at Eureka. We emptied boxes out of the three containers that were delivered to the beach outside of the station last August. We were all eager and quickly unloaded a huge amount of gear. Boxes were then divided into piles for the Put-in, Team 1, Firn-air and Marine programs in addition to a pile of spare equipment that will stay at Eureka.

We started placing one of the Viessman cabins in a box to move up to the runway area, which is a few kilometers away. We currently have two running snowmobiles and will soon be able to use the Pearl CANDAC truck. The truck was hidden in snow when we arrived but Pierre and his team did a great job freeing it using shovels and ice axes… Since then it has been thawing in a heated garage.

A special treat was seeing a fox close to the station.

What we have done:

-unpacked boxes from the three containers

-divided boxes in piles for the various programs

-packed the Viessmann panels for transport to runway

-packed plywood on pallet for transport to runway

-built a wooden box for all the small items for the metal drill tent, that will be kept at Eureka for backup. (need to free the foam boxes for use in camp).
