Müller Ice Cap Daily Report Wednesday March 26
Daily Report 26 March 2025
We made it to Eureka today! At 9 am we took of with a ski-equipped Twin-Otter towards Eureka. Our pilots from Ken Borek, Rod and Izzy, were just great. We had clear skies for the whole three hour flight and the views were amazing, the mountains, fjords and glaciers of Axel Heiberg Island are truly stunning. Arriving at Eureka, Don, the station leader received us and we got a briefing including to look out for wolves and foxes. The nature and landscape around Eureka is stunningly beautiful and we are so privileged to be here.
What we have done:
-arrived at the weather station Eureka
-opened the three sea containers
-Got the Lynx started and pulled the Scandic snowmobile to a warm garage hoping to get it running tomorrow
-Emma joined the weather balloon launch and actually launched the balloon
-worked with packing lists and made plans for tomorrow
